The ANF is calling on nurses and midwives to email the Shadow Minister for Health and Ageing Peter Dutton and urge him to support legislation before the Federal Parliament that will give patients of nurse practitioners and eligible midwives access to PBS and MBS rebates.
It follows the Opposition Health Minister's refusal to indicate his commitment to support the Bill in Parliament last month.
Any delay in the introduction of the Health Legislation Amendment will adversely affect the Australian public, many of whom are desperately in need of improved access to quality health services, AN F federal secretary Ged Kearney said.
