NSW: BB shipment to be destroyed
Customs officers have found 1,440 potentially dangerous BB guns among a container of
toys sent to Australia from China.
Although the air pistols look like toys, they can fire small projectiles or ball bearings
a long distance and are capable of causing injury.
BB guns are prohibited imports, and the shipment will be destroyed.
Customs spokesman ROBERT VILES says if the items had been sold as children's gifts,
there could have been dire consequences.
