Qld: Police accused of over-using capsicum spray
BRISBANE, Jan 1 AAP - An investigation will be held into the use of capsicum sprayby police to arrest New Years Eve revellers on the Gold Coast.
A police spokeswoman said Acting-Commissioner Dick Conder would examine whether therehad been excessive use of the spray as claimed by some witnesses and those involved inthe incident.
Footage of capsicum spray being used by police to subdue two men, crying in pain asa result, in the heartland of Surfers Paradise overnight has been shown on Channel 10News and other networks throughout Australia.
Both men were unarmed and one already in custody …
